Obama's Budget Plan Increasing Taxes

Most people know about Obama’s trillion dollar budget planned passed by The Senate and it is giving a lot of Republicans, among others, worried about what this will do to the future generations. With the new budget plan, there will have to be higher taxes to pay it off and will leave our future generations with a ton of debt for our actions today.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty says that President Obama talked about tax relief, but his new budget wont be any help on providing tax relief.

“I thought President Obama's proposal to eliminate capital gains taxes for small businesses was a pretty good idea. And his pledge to lower taxes for middle-class Americans was something Republicans wholeheartedly supported," Pawlenty said in the GOP radio and Internet address. "But the budget that Congress is considering doesn't provide that tax relief."

Obama’s new administration is allowing small businesses to have capital gains taxes, but those taxes will remain high even after Obama is out of office.

Referring to Obama’s 3.6 trillion budget proposal, Pawlenty says “The federal government should keep a lid on taxes, control government spending and borrow less -- rather than increase the size and scope of the federal government so much that Washington is guaranteeing future tax increases”.

I think that the government should find new ways to help increase jobs instead of just spending more and more money, when America doesn’t have money to be spending. I believe Obama’s spending plan will be efficient for only a short period of time, eventually all the money we are spending and the money we are borrowing will come back to bite us in the ass when it comes time to pay it off. The spending we are letting the Obama administration do is just causing debt and higher taxes for ourselves, our children and grandchildren.

  1. Normally you have to spend money to make money. In our economy right now, that is obviously not working. Everyone wants it to change over night and people don't realize that that can't happen. I agree when you say it's going to come bite us in the ass and cause our children, even our adulthood even more problems than we have right now. Stop the spending.

  2. President Obama and his administration are spending a lot of money to get our country back on track. They realize that sometimes you have to spend money to make money and they are treating the economy like a business.
If a business runs out of capital there is no room for growth and this seems to be the plan President Obama is mirroring. The Obama administration is hoping to create 2.5 million jobs by 2011, which is double the amount of jobs that were lost in 2008. Obama’s initiative to create new jobs is very important to the administration and at the current moment they are taking necessary steps to obtain their goals. Unfortunately this isn’t an overnight process and sometimes the beginning of a plan might look bleak but our government has a plan. If spending money to make money is what it takes, then so be it.
The breakdown of the 3.6 trillion budget proposal shows how a large chunk of the money is going to create jobs for Americans. New energy jobs are getting a lot of money in the budget proposal as well as new construction and these two areas alone should help millions of Americans prosper from the governments spending. Stabilizing our economy is a top priority for our government and I feel confident that our President and his administration are taking every opportunity to make the lives of American citizens better.
